This 1-day workshop is designed for industry participants to hear from the experts the business values and opportunities of advanced analytics. It will be held at Vistana Hotel, Penang, on 12 March 2019.
The workshop begins with environment scan, discusses the rise of analytics, and the different types of analytics, namely Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive Analytics (also called Operations Research or OR).
The invited speakers, who are industry experts in these fields, will talk about Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, its business values, and success stories. The opportunities and challenges will be discussed as well.
This is followed by demonstration on how both Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics can be done. Participants can then interact with the speakers during Panel Discussion which consists panelists from both industry and academia.
Finally, the workshop recommends how to get started in this area, e.g. upskilling employees with the right skills through short courses and/or part-time graduate study, research partnership with local universities, or leveraging third parties.
We invite faculties to submit shortlisted theses (PhD, Masters, Bachelor degrees) to be considered for this award.

The first three conferences have been hosted in the Asian Region, Seoul, Beijing, and Fukuoka. They have all been a success and well organized by the respective societies, KORS, ORSC, ORSJ.
Malaysia hosted 2010’s APORS Conference in Penang. The four days conference was a successful initiative organized by MSORSM.
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) through the Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM) with the Malaysian Academy of Mathematical Scientists (AISMM) are delighted to co-organise IQRAC2018 (http://einspem.upm.edu.my/iqr ac2018/) from 05 -08 August 2018, in the colourful and historic city of Kuching, the capital of the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. The conference aims to bring together academicians, researchers, practitioners and students of the international mathematical sciences community to discuss various aspects of mathematics with particular emphasis this time on the theme “Mathematical Challenges in Big Data Analytics”.
We hope you will join us and learn, enjoy, and most importantly be a part of the IQRAC2018 conference. Organise a session, give a talk and remember to experience this great city.
